On December 4th 2011, we got to setup & design the room layout for our gorgeous bride Olivia, and the fantastic team at Sails on the Bay. Our theme to work with was black & white with the hint of bling ... The guest list was small of only 45 people (which the room can hold up to 120+), but I wanted to use the room to the best I could. I just love working with floor plans and using the space capacity to bring a room to life. We did the layout, the linen, the designer chair covers & the centrepieces ...

A great romantic country barn wedding ...

This rustic country barn wedding looks absolutely stunning. I love how the colours from the barn has been captured into the colours of the table settings. Even the fabric used for the top of the tables is like a warn out calico, a very inspirational idea indeed.

Another awesome idea is above for your guests menu ... Why not find an old window from a destroyed house & get somebody with fancy writing to write up the menu for all guests to see ..

What a gorgeous combination of colours. Lately I am so mad on the colour Navy!! I have recently started re-designing my bedroom in Navy & White, but when I started looking at different colours to compliment Navy I was surprised. Any vibrant colours like yellow, orange, green & of course pink really work well with Navy.

One way to enjoy the great outdoors, is to have an outdoor wedding. I believe that an outdoor ceremony should have a special meaning behind each. Whether this be by couples who have a great bond with a specific location such as the beach where they met ..... or in the backyard of their house they have made home.

Florals - Yvonne Design

There a few things to consider when selecting a location: think about the time of year, possible weather scenarios and indoor backup facilities. But the possibilities are endless. I have done a few outdoor weddings in the gardens, parks, wineries & peoples backyard. We have designed ceremony setups in gazebos, at hotels, on yachts, on the beach & a comfortable plan in the snow. I do believe that if a couple have a special or significant area or spot they would like to share, than go for it.

Pick a location that suits the style and feel that you want for your wedding. A casual beach wedding with your bare feet in the sand at sunset ... a beautiful and memorable setting, but not for you if you are looking for a more formal or traditional style.

Some of the best tips I can give any bride, is to make sure you cater & think of your guests & family as well. So begin to take into consideration the grandparents (seating for them), think about any handicapped guests (easy entrance & exits), and if you have that beloved pampered pooch starring in your wedding, think of their comfort as well (so water, & a friend to look after them).

Crown Weddings

You need to also take into consideration the WEATHER!! If you are getting married in the middle of summer, prepare bottled water for everyone on arrival & handmade fans. Hire out the beautiful parasols for the ladies or just arrange for a marquee or market umbrellas to cover everyone.

If its freezing cold or has been raining very heavily, then consider asking your venue for a wet weather room of where you can hold your ceremony-99% of venues will definitely accommodate for this.

Cream, Champagne, Apricot & Avocado Wedding Inspirations

Well with such another bleak & miserable day, I thought there is nothing better than a little freshness of apricot & avocado as a wedding inspiration. Its such a beautiful colour combination. Very light, free-flowing & very vintage as well, with that rustic charm.
My opinion with these 2 colour shades is not to add to much white, but keep it soft with a cream or champagne, this will keep it also airy & light to touch.
I always picture these colours being used in a vinyard, farm property or big beautiful garden. Perfect for the outdoor ceremonies too.
